The Teachings of Fall

Fall is my favorite of all the seasons, and yet it’s when I’ve had the most loss in my life. It doesn’t make since why this holds true for me, but neither does death. Fall holds within it all the wisdom and beauty that comes with age. It is the very peck of life shining with all its colors and glory, a time of celebration of a life well lived, and yet it represents the ending time of a finished product.

All the energy held within the earth has come together to give us it’s last show. Even our senses are in high gear as we take in the smells, colors, taste, and feel of the cool weather setting in. There is a sense of hope that stands in wake of winter. A knowing that after all has gone back into the earth a time of rest, nourishment, and contemplation is needed before it reawakens in the spring…with rebirth.

It never ceases to amaze me how everything around us teaches us something about life. We just have to take the time to stop…and see what it’s trying to show us.

Mapping Our Way Through Life

Mapping our way through life

Remember when we use to use maps to find our way from here to there. Now we have our gadgets like the GPS. We don’t even have to look away to find where we are going we hear the voice telling us to turn this way or that. When we get off track, it says, “recalculating” over and over again until we’re back on the right path.

The GPS reminds me of the voice of God only I would call it the GPST (God’s Plans Save Time). We always think we know a better way to get from hear to there, and we have the nerve to turn off the GPST because we don’t want to hear how many times it’s saying, “recalculating.” We keep trying to do it our way until we become lost. At this point we need to get out of our own way, turn the GPST back on, and trust where it leads us. The moment we do we’ll find ourselves back on track.

How Can I Forget What The Scar Won't Let Me?

How Can I Forget What The Scar Won't Let Me?

Who hasn't had their hearts pierced in one way or another, and while the arrow may no longer be logged inside...the scar of the wound remains pinching at times as scars do when pulled and tugged upon.

We do the work that must be done to heal or we become stuck in the pain letting it turn us into victims imprisoned by what we won't let go of.

How do I forget what the scar won't let me? That can only be answered by the individual themselves. But as one with experience I'm here to share that it takes work. It takes a desire for something better. It takes a kind of spiritual intervention, and it takes lots of practice. In the end it comes down to two choices: I can feel this instead of that, and I ask myself what's it gonna be?

I want peace & happiness, it seems so unreachable at times, and yet when I'm in this place I wonder why it was so hard to find.
